First draft:

Rosewill case and 350w psu: $39 (got lazy choose the cheapest)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147010

ASRock A75 FM1: $69 (because it has alot of features for the price)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157261

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB $29 (... :pt1cable: )
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428

Llano 2.7GHz 65w Radeon HD 6410D $69 (Not sure about the 6410 I've only seen charts on the 6530)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103955

Corsair Nova Series 2 SSD 60gb $89 (HDD are $$$ right now and this is fast and cheap, plus i have a extra 1tb caviar green)

Plus I'm looking for a new screen for my brother-inlaw approx $100

He does photo editing, and works for the court house so sometimes he's doing alot of online research from home. he wants the comp to be fast and reliable, I think the ssd and 8gb of g.skill x should be plenty fast.... for what he's using the comp for i could make it cheaper but he wants it to be upto date with tech and last awhile...

I dont know anything about fm1 except that its new, so i hope it has a future.

I'm worried mostly about the ssd, I kinda dont know a damn thing about them. I dont mind upgradeding firmware I've been doing stuff like that for years. so it doesnt have to be reliable out of the box. just as long as once i upgraded it i can let my bro-inlaw loose on the thing and not have to be working on it all the time :(

So I'm looking at around $300 for the tower and $100 for the monitor give or take.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! my brain is just about fried trying put this thing together(Theres so much new crap to research)

Solution
well at that price "fast" is not somthing you should expect

nor should you expect any "reliability" buying the cheapest power supply you can find...

@ 300$ a more reasonable expectation is "hey,,, it works!!!"

would the brother in law in question be able to "match" the investment you're putting forth??? even @ $500 you could have a "kinda fast" and "fairly reliable as long as he keeps

away from online porn" computer!!!

but you're on the right track with llano....id scrap the ssd and put that $$$ into the psu and a case......also if you get some faster ram llano apu's respond quite well in gaming and

video performance.....

$300 for fast and reliable is going to be tough. I'm not up to date with the lower end amd processors to help you on that end but I will say that you should not buy a case+psu combo. That psu will be terrible and if you are going to go cheap on a component please don't skimp on the psu. It will destory the rest of your hardware.

thxs for the replys :) He's flexible on the price and he'll never play games on it, that's why i decided on llano and not discrete gpu.
I found some faster ram on egg for a few bucks more and amazon has a ocz fatality modular 550w for $60 shipped so i'll go with that.
and i'll stick with a ssd, i'll just find one with sandforce and i think the system will be ready to go :D
