Dell Optiplex 780 Motherboard C27VV 0C27W THIS THING HAS 4 SLOTS AND HAS 4GB IN IT NOW BUT 2 SLOTS ARE OPEN IM THINKING TO GET 4 ,4GB CHIPS,AND A 1TB HARDDRIVE ,ISTHERE A BETTER PROCESSOR FOR THIS THING?

I have the same mother board and upgraded mine to the maximum which is 16gb. The most RAM you can install is 16gb. However, you must have a 64bit OS installed on the computer to actually use all the RAM. This is because the 32 bit OS can only recognize 4gb of RAM by default. I'm not sure about the capabilities of Windows 8 though. Perhaps, Windows 8 can see all the RAM. You would have to verify that with the OS specs. As far as the CPU, mine is a Duo Core processor and it works pretty well. Here are a list of compatible CPU part #'s that you can check the specs on to suit your liking: W3YMN, X198G,
