I am in the process of buying parts for my first PC build. I have a few components already and I just want some feedback and recommendations for the few remaining parts I need. I still need Memory, hard drive, GPU, maybe an ssd.

Was wondering if I should just buy an SSD to start as I have a 1tb external Hard drive.

Not exactly sure what the best Memory would be. I'm thinking about 8 gigs but not entirely sure what the best cards are.

Wondering where the best site would be to get the best deal on Windows 7.

I was thinking of getting an EVGA GTX 570 HD 2560MB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168..., an extra $50 and I get twice the memory. Not sure if it makes a huge difference but I figure it can't be bad.

Any other tips or advice is welcome.

Approximate Purchase Date: Hopefully be able to gather the rest of the parts by Christmas

Budget Range: ~$1200

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, internet, movies

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, mouse, speakers, CPU, Case, Powersupply, DVD drive, Motherboard

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg.com, tigerdirect.com, amazon.com, open to suggestions

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: I'm leaning toward Nvidia for a GPU, everything else is fair game

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Monitor Resolution: Want a relatively big screen, don't need anything crazy though.

Additional Comments: I just want a few recommendations on a few parts that I don't have yet.

Yes on the keeping HDD, the prices are insane. For an SSD, look at the Crucial M4.
Look at the GTX 570 for your GPU.
I would say HAF 922. Probably the most debatable part.
Monitor,ASUS makes some good, not high price stuff.
