Old hdd and os into new build

Hello everyone

I just built my new pc and i reused my old hard drive. Everything works fine with my old info and windows 7 and i installed all the new drivers for the new hardware.

My question is can i keep it that way (noting that everything works fine now) or do i still have to format the hard drive and reinstall os.

If something eventually goes wrong later on would be software only related or it can impact the hardware?

Thanks a lot

If everything is working properly, then just leave well enough alone (no install necessary). Make sure to re-activate your system. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply!

I just wanted to make sure that i cant do anything wrong to the new hardware.

And how do i exactly re-activate my windows ( if thats what you mean). I dont have windows cd, since my old hard drive came with windows installed from the old computer that i bought.

Go into Control Panel/System and see what your activation status is (middle/bottom of window). If re-activation is required it will be indicated. If required, click and follow the prompts. Same my hold true for MS Office if you have it installed.
