hi, I recently built a budget gaming pc and bought an athlon II x2 260 3.2 GHz cpu. After playing some APB: Reloaded for an hour, the temps were at 55oC, and 38 at idle. Now that seemed a little hot to me, so i applied some new arctic silver 5 to the cpu and ran Prime95 for 1 hour and got; 51oC full load and 35 at idle. now i have tried Speedfan, coretemp, realtemp and they all give me different readings. Speedfan says that the CPU itself is at 51oC when running prime 95, but coretemp says that both cores are running at 40-43oC. THIS IS FORM A STOCK COOLER as i had no money left in my measly budget for a good cpu cooler. are these temps too high? which readings should i follow

Please help! - Sean

^ yea seems pretty average. some people consider 65-ish degrees C as reasonable temps, but yours seem pretty normal to me, and dont think that 65-70 is good because it really isnt unless you have some crazy cpu that is meant to run at that... imo anyway.
