I beileve continuous beeps indicated an issue with RAM, try running memtest if you can and see if any errors pop up. If the beeps stop at one point, count the beeps and then try and find your boards manual online or just google how beeps so you can attempt to narrow down the issue.

What is the computer and specs? What is the beep sequence? Is your RAM full seated?

It's HP compaq intel(R) pentium (R) 4CPU 2.80GHz speed 2800Hz
memory size: 2304MB DDR2/400

Yes, the beep is in sequence and loud.
I am not sure if the RAM if fully seated. After banging the box, the CPU start working again. The time and date is correct now. Previously have to reset each time I login.
I wonder if the computer would repeat the beep sound and cannot login later.

Thanks so much
Cheers

Your best bet is to go on to HP's website and look uo your exact computer model. Then look at the motherboard manual and see if it tells you what the beep code means. If that doesn't work you can call HP's tech support and ask them.
