Hey guys, I have an Asus PSG41t-mlx mobo and I recently bought a kingmax DDR3 1600mhz, I know the mobo is meant to only support 1333MHz but a lot of forums said you can use 1600MHz but it will just get downgraded, but the pc doesn't seem to recognise it at all.

Any pro tips for getting this working?

It doesn't really work that way. If the Mobo only supports 1333MHz, then that's all you can really stick in. If you had a Mobo that supported up to 1600MHz, then your configuration would work. The Mobo would slow down the 1600MHz sticks to match the 1333MHz, or you could over clock the 1333MHz to more closely match the 1600MHz.
