using e5335 771 in a 775

i am just wondering. i would be getting a great deal on 2 xeon e5335 quad core cpu's. but i would like to get 775 board. would the xeon work in a 775 board? or would i have to get a dual cpu server board?

Theres no way.... They are different sockets. You probably wouldn't even be able to drop the CPUs into a socket 775 board, not to mention have compatibility issues with teh chipsets. You will need a S771 server board.

ok i think im just gonna wait and buy a q6600, i have no intention of messing with a server board. i dont need all that power. i rather spend less money as well. thanks you guys for the quick response!
