Yes the GA-P55-UD5 is LGA1156.
Well I decided to built a new system with some old parts. I have the mobo, 6GB DDR3 ram, a gtx260, and 700W PSU. I don't want to spend crazy money as the pc will not be for demanding use.

Hi,

I would recommend not to get a 1156 CPU, because they are discontinued and you will be wasting your money..

For the ammount you get a 1156 CPU will be very close to the prices of the 1155 processors.

matt2155...I agree, but the OP has said they already have other parts. So to get a S1155 system, they'd need to spend overall more than they would just getting a S1156 CPU.

If the PC isn't for demanding use, I'd go for a dual-core i3 CPU. Shop around and get the cheapest one you can find.

In that case yes, a Core i3 will be more than enough and very reliable.

If it comes to playing games, then I would say to go with the 1155 CPU's.
