We have the aforementioned camera, and are looking for a rechargeable
battery system to use with it. It supports the CR-V3 lithium cells, but
Olympus tech support says that they've not tested it with the
rechargeable version, the RCR-V3, and that I'd be on my own. The latter
cells, apparently, put out 3.7 Volts no-load when fully charged, as
opposed to the 3 Volts put out by the CR-V3 single-use cells. Does
anyone have any experience using these cells with this camera?

Best,
David

According to this:

The voltage is 'nominally' 3V. Should be a direct replacement for the
CRV3. If you already have an investment in NIMH batteries and charger,
this probably isn't an economical way to go, but if you are a new user,
it looks like the best approach.

I use them in my Oly 560 and they seem superior to NiMh's.
Significantly more run time, and they don't lose much of their charge
over time. However, remember that once you purchase a charger and
battery, any additional batteries must be compatible with the charger
-- not all RCR-V3's have the same pins.

You mean not all NiMh chargers work with all NiMh batteries??

Is the RCR-V3 a Li-ion battery that needs a dedicated charger?

Yes. They are a little two battery pack. The rechargeables are not
individual AA batteries.

Not allR CR-V3's use the same CR-V3 chargers. NiMH's, as far as I know,
generally use the same chargers (except for new '15 minute' batteries).
