Which case would you guys take? For overall functionality of course... but cooling mainly? I was pretty positive about grabbing the FT02 due to the excellent build quality and sick fans. But I read that sticking another GTX 570 might be tough to squeeze in there.
Then I ran into the Level 10GT which seems to have excellent cooling qualities when compared to the HAF X and FT02. So it's just another thread about another freakin case that is killing me!
Any input on the Thermaltake? I barely see that case mentioned around here (as of late) and not sure why!
Both are great cases, if a bit pricey. I prefer the 10GT's styling to the FT02's innovation (turned mobo). But both are great cases. You can't go wrong with either, but if I were building a new gaming rig I'd go with the Corsair 600T White.
Or why didn't you choose the HAF X, TJ11, or Obsidian?
From functionality point of view it bothers me that the top-performing cards such as GF590 or Radeon 6990, as well as the possible radeon 7990 all have cooling which exhausts air in both directions, not just out of the case. That would be a problem in FT02, which would block it from blowing out below. One thing you could do is probably put a little shield at the end of the VGA to prevent the bottom case fans from blowing the air back in, but with clearance of 12.2" that may be an impossible challenge too.
The Thor V2 will not have the problem.
Have a look at some less exposed cases, for example, Azza Hurrican 2000, and Enermax Fulmo Mid-Tower of GT. I don't see why that could not be made as powerful as Haf X, or, in my opinion, even more.
