OK so i recently came across a deal to buy 2 570's that i couldnt pass up. I checked each card individually to make sure they work and they do. SO i throw em both in together and change the nvidia control panel to enable sli. everything looks fine there. and yes i have a sli bridge connecting them. but my performance just totally blows. i get barely any perceptible difference vs one card. i have tried on both bad company 2 and the battlefield 3 beta. yeah i know the beta isnt the greatest to test on but thats why i bought the damn cards. anywho i also ran 3dmark 06 and this is what i get

anyone have any clue why im getting such crappy sli performance? also i know that sli is working cuz i had show cli indicator and i could see it. also gpu-z, evga preicision and msi afterburner are showing both cards and everythign. when i run both cards the pci slots go to x8/x8 vs single x16 but have seen numerous articles that cliam the x8 vs x16 speeds are very similar so i dont think thats my issue. any help would be greatly appreciated.

there is no problem with pci-e x8/x8 everyone who making to sli or crossfirex they also used x8/x8 with the bigger cards so the problem is not here and please, mention your full specs then i can explain in more detail that where is the problem..

in some cases many people don't know about bottlenecking of pc component

Your CPU is bottlenecking those cards BIG time. If you can OC the CPU to 4ghz that would be a good start. Start cranking AA to at least 8x and all details up and you may start to see a difference between a single and dual card.

yeah need full system specs

CPU =
MB=
RAM=
PSU=
HDD=
OS=

I would agree with Crowe and hazard to geuss CPU bottle neck ..though it could MB and PCIe Lanes problem(if MB like 8x /4x or even 1x ) ..could be (though I doubt it Sli Bridge issue) ..could be PSU not giving enough for 2nd card. a number of things , but need more info

one gtx 570 also do a better job then why are you wasting your money.

my specs are in my sig. i know theres not alot of room there for em.

CPU - Phenom II x4 955 BE
MB - Msi 750-g55 lanes are x8/x8 with dual cards x16 single lane
RAM -12 GB of ddr 3 1333mhz
PSU - 1000w Coolermaster silent pro
HD - 500gb 7300 rpm main, 1tb 5400rpm storage
os - Win 7 64 bit

i kinda figured that my cpu was bottlenecking me. its only at 3.2 ghz and not overclocked. however i was gonna bump it here to prob 3.6ghz see if that helped at all. im hoping that the bulldozers are decent enough so i can grab one of those when they finally ship.

^you will need a new motherboard for bulldozer, and intels 2500k is still going to be better for gaming

Yes these two card bottleneck your cpu then you have two options.
1:single 570 is better for your cpu.
2:if you want to sli must buy an 2500k even it can handle tri sli and it is neccessary to change your mobo as well..

thanks, im hoping that the bulldozers will live up to the hype. theyre claiming the 8150 will be like $230 and be in between the 2500k and 2600k performance wise. and i was lready leaning towards getting a 990fx mobo which is compatible with my 955 and the new bulldozers. so well have to see. plus with the 2700k releasing as well it might bring the 2600k down into my price range too.

nevermind just seen that amd claims the benchmarks are fake. go figure. but supposedly theyll release the bulldozers next week so we wont have to wait long to see.

then wait also for ivy bridge iam sure they will beat amd bulldozer of yours

does neone think that maybe the 1000w psu isnt enough? ive put it through a few psu calculators and they all say 1000w should be good enough just asking. right now im leaning toward selling the mobo/cpu and going with an i5 2500k.

1000W PSU is plenty fine. Most likely its your CPU bottlenecking your cards.
Bulldozer is absolute *** in games.. your CPU can out perform it in some instances.. so at this point, get a 2500k and call it a day. This means you need a new motherboard though.
