Hey Toms Hardware Community I'm just posting this thread so i can get some advice on the following Gaming rig im about to purchase, im getting a mate to help me put it together and so far ive fairly set in stone the parts but im still flexible and want to hear others opinions

I dont really worry about the Price atm just as long as its worthwhile, give me options for things that may be better or more cost efficient i may not follow your opinion but id just like to see where my Build stands atm. If dont want any flaming or Overkill Trolling if u going to do any of that just dont bother typing as the community probably doesnt want to hear your point of view. With that said heres my Build.

Sub Total + Postage = $3925

Sub Total (All Products) (Razor Assesories Build) = $3535
Sub Total + Postage = $3807 (if i get this build i can get the Asus Rampage IV Extreme) (Top Motherboard, Extra $100)

Tell me which build i should get, any other changes ( i could always interlock Razor and Logitech but i would rather get one outright build or the other)
Thx Toms Hardware Community.

Nothing wrong with your planned build. But be sure you won't need the $$ for anything else. I've seen lots of folks try to unload high end custom builds and take a big loss. If you're not rich, and like upgrading every two years, then I would cut your budget in half. The e series sandy bridge isn't a cost effective cpu for gamers. As far as I know, it's platform won't carry over to the next generation of Intel cpus. You're paying a big premium for a modest performance increase of ten percent or less.

ye i was thinking that bumnut53 but if i get i7-2600K not only will i have to make a completely new Build around the old LGA 1155 Socket *Not the new LGA 2011 Socket* but it will go out of date quicker

and as im buying a second 1TB HDD, Second Graphics Card and Second SSD in about 6-12months after this which would cost around *$800* i dont really need to worry atm, it would be too much hassle, thankyou for your views though :)

What are you planning to do? That CPU + motherboard isn't really cost effective as a i7-2600k and a z68 motherboard. You save about $500 if you cut it down to those parts.

I would advice against getting a Hitachi Drive, it is one of the HDDs that have the highest failures.

I would get a Samsung Spinpoint F3, WD Caviar Black or Seagate Barracuda 1tb.

Ye i may change Hitachi to Samgsun as Seagate 1TB are meant to have a manufacturing fault in some models some mates of mine who work in IT told me.

and with the i7-2600K its not that i dont mind paying the extra money for the LGA 2011 Socket build its that its more cost effective in the long run like 2-5years away if i get the latest socket now as i wont have to upgrade much later on just because i will be close to the top High End Gaming Rigs in the next few years were as most things now are being built and tailored for these new sockets, the old ones just have the normal parts but arnt being changed or new things added to them which is why im getting the cheapest *Performance* LGA 2011 Socket Mainstream products *Processor and Graphics Card* but i see what your thinking

i definatly will look into the HDD's though
