Mobo upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my current Asus M5A97. I'm thinking of expanding to two gpu's (GTX670) in the near future. I'm currently looking at the Asus M5A99X RV2.0 and the Gigabyte 990FX-UD3.

I can pick up the Asus for 119, and the Gigabyte for 121. Just wondering what everyone would suggest. I've owned gigabyte boards in the past and had no trouble. I also do quite like Asus, as they're simple to use and are quality built. I am looking to overclock.

Here are specs;

Kingston HyperX Genesis 2x4 1600
XFX 750 XXX Edition
MSI GTX 670 Power Edition
Asus Xonar D1
OCZ Agility 3
Antec Kuhler 920
Corsair 500r

I'm not worried all that much about cooling, as my case has pretty good airflow. Ambient is generally around 22-24 degrees with the heat on.

  1. I prefer Gigabyte over Asus these days.

    Oh and for the record, I really wouldn't recommend 2 GTX670s. You know you'll see quite a huge bottleneck with that CPU unless you overclock it.
  2. That's one of the reason's I'm looking at a new mobo as well. I'm oc'ing at the moment and I'm not all that found of the voltage control and LLC. Also, would I see any benefit from having two gtx 670's with a 55" tv?

    If the TV is 1080p, a single 670 will be more than enough
