Graphics and PSU upgrade

I have a Hp i7-860 2.8ghz, 6 GB RAM with a HD 5450 grahics card and a 300 watt PSU. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02005044&cc=uk&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4108223
HP say I shouldnt upgrade PSU and Graphics in case I damage other components. Any ideas if this is true? The gaming performance is poor. I would like to spend around £150 - £200 max.

Go ahead, they are wrong if done right the chances of damaging other bits is next to none.

HP is probably also going to say that your warrenty is void if you upgrade the components. I don't know how long you have had this computer but it would be worth it to do so because your not going anywhere with that psu.
