I'm working on putting together my first build and I'm taking my time finding parts. I saw a local listing for a PNY GTX 580 1.5gb for $350 and an EVGA gtx 580 3gb for $440. I'm only going to be running games on a 1680 x 1050 monitor, so the 3gb is definitely overkill, but I have heard EVGA is tops for nvidia cards. Is the PNY a good deal or should I try bargaining down the EVGA? Also has anyone had any experience with PNY cards and customer service?

Thanks in advance!

I woud get the PNY it's a much better deal. Both cards are way more than you need unless you plan to buy a new monitor or connect it to your HD tv. I would look at a 6950 1GB or a 560ti. It will be plenty for that resolution, but if you are willing to pay for a 580 maybe a 570 to be sure you always get 50 fps
