64-bit Win7 won't recognize all 5GB of my RAM, help?

Hello,
I have Win 7 with 64-bit and the PC will only use 3.25GB out of 5GB, and I need all my RAM for I play games. I have cleared my whole BIOS/CMOS, I cannot find a memory remapping function; and I am at a point where reinstalling the OS is not an option. I have also done "MSCONFIG" and that failed too, my motherboard, an ECS 945GCT-NM, should support 8GB of DDR2.

So, can anyone help me?

More about win7 recognize help
  1. Or not.
  2. BIOS > Remapping is under the ADVANCE TAB. try there, let me know.
  3. I could not find anything that said "Remapping", so I set it to "Long Boot" instead of Quick Boot and it still won't work...
  4. Maybe you don't have activated the PAE (Physical adress extension).
I've faced this problem with Vista, solving it by typing in Start-Run "BCDEdit /set PAE forceenable".
Imho you should deepen this relatively to Win7.
  5. I did that, do I have to restart for it to take effect?
  6. It did not work....
  7. Try removing the 4GB stick and putting the 1GB in it's place, see if it tries to POST. If it doesn't POST your 1GB stick COULD be bad. same goes for the 4GB stick.
  8. Nothing is working heres my memory set up:
    1: 512MB
    2: 512MB
    3: 2048MB
    4: 2048MB
And it said extended memory: 4096MB
  9. Any help? Or should I just leae it alone until my next upgrade to, 8GB RAM, and an i5?

    Wait.

Can you give us a live link of your Motherboard?

I tried to check your Motherboard spec with search, but wonder if its a discontinued product.

Please give us a live link of your Mobo, as I doubt about it's maximum memory support.
  11. I am just going to deal with it until my next upgrade, my new Board would be 1155 Socket with a H61 chipset, and 8GB ddr3

OK SO although it's kind of late because i've just noticed this thread ( had the same problem)
1.go start and write 'msconfig' - press enter
    2.system configuration will open
    3.click on boot tab
    4.click on advanced options
    5.Tick 'Maximum memory''
    6. write 5120 ( 1024*5)
    7.Reboot and Have fun :)
  13. Is this a Gateway computer mobo? If so they max the DRAM at 4GB and you'll lose part of that to system overhead, which is what this sounds like, and the regular mobo, according to ECS, Ver 1.0 maxs at 4GB also
