2100 is better, GPU for under $200 I would say a GTX 560 but if you can reach for the 560 Ti

If you downgrade that intel mobo to a h67 (no need for overclocking motherboard), you can upgrade to an i5. That would perform better than both of these options.

But if it's one of the other, go with the i3.

This is incorrect . Tomshardware system builder marathons using these two processors showed the strengths and weaknesses .

The phenom was stronger everywhere except games , where it was a fraction behind .
Even using the stock cooler the phenom could then be easily over clocked to beat the i3 2100 in games , while the i3 cannot be overclocked at all

Yes the i3 is faster for gaming, personally I would get the X4 BE though because of the multiplier-unlocked overclockability and it is a true quad-core.

One is intel , one is AMD
