Hi folks,

I fumbled around getting my iPaq 1940 connected to the internet using
a Bluetooth dongle & BlueSoleil software 1.6.1.4 and ActiveSync.

I am confused with all the ports on the iPaq and BlueSoleil. What I
ended up doing was to match the ports on the 1940 with the ports on
BlueSoleil.

iPaq
====
Inbound COM port: 5
Outbound COM port: 8
ActiveSync with PC: Serial Port A

BlueSoleil
========
Service Properties
- Serial Port A: Com 6
- Serial Port B: Com 7
Quick Connect
- COM 5: iPaq 1940
- COM 8: iPaq 1940

Questions
1) Are all these port connections necessary?

2) There is a dial-up networking setup on the iPaq on COM 1. How is
this used? Must there be a modem on my PC or just a dial up account?

3) On BlueSoleil there is a LAN Access Service. It wasn't enabled when
I installed the software so I turned it "on" thinking this would give
an internet connection. However when the iPaq is connected the Soleil
Lan Access Service stays off. Does the iPaq not support this protocol?

As you can see I am a bluetooth novice.

Thanks,
Art
