New sys build i5

Hello all

Looking at new build have old PC, Ive rebuild old pc's just not a new one and would hate to end up with a expensive bunch of elec junk b/c I didn't ask some of you knowledge folks about the build. here goes.. Im not really a gamer so no or just one VC would be enough, going to use XP at 1st, need quad core cpu as I will be run multi programs at once, have HD will buy another when prices come back down, have old full tower lian case. Budget 500-700 depending

First off dont buy that RAM you want dual channel DDR3 1600mhz 1.5V. Go with 4gb (2x2gb) or 8GB (2x4gb)

Glad I asked dual channel as in I know I over bought ram by 2? or is it the kind? I simply kept copy & pasting from the so called "approved memory list" to new egg the thats one of the few at 1600 available.

could you explain briefly why the ram is better? is there a reason beside I had too much?

What VC would you recommend?

Ram is best that is cheap and works (this does for board) at a fast speed, that simple.
For a GPU (more common abbreviation that VC) I would get this

and then also pick up a CPU cooler.

Then thermal paste which you need to mount the CPU cooler

Could you pick out a cheaper GPU around $125

Great price on CPU cooler wow $25 I will have to OC some day.

I have a full tower bottom PSU and will reuse it I noticed many peeps saying the
PSU listed by anwercarr has short cables any other suggestions

I just found Toms how to build tips etc... seems the more I learn the more I find
I don't know LOL
