Seeking advice on home build and server

I am looking for advice on 2 builds (home pc build and a server)

With the server I am either looking for a pre-built system or a build by me.

I am looking to host my website off this server and the occasional live stream onto the site. I am not overly expeirenced in this part of computers. My site does not have alot of content so I dont know if i need something high tech quite yet or if a basic to mid range server will get me by for awhile

For the PC build I am looking at the Intel chipset as i dont know alot about the AMD stuff. I prefer either the LGA 2011 or the LGA 1155 cpu's. I am open to AMD suggestions though. I use the computer mostly for programming and slight gaming (2hrs a week). I have pre bought some parts already which i listed below. I do want something that will be fast and not be bogged down by memory usage.

** The computer i have now is a Intel Core2 Quad 2.33 Ghz with 8GB Ram, 2 - 2TB Harddrives

Approximate Purchase Date: by Christmas

Budget Range: upto 6000

System Usage from Most to Least Important: surfing the net, watching videos, gaming, programming

Parts Not Required: power supply (i have a brand new 1000w Rosewill RBR100-M Bronze Series) and 2X - EVGA 03G-P3-1596-AR GeForce GTX 590 (Fermi) Classified 3072MB 768-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Cards as well as 4 3TB hard drives

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.ca

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: Prefer Intel but open to AMD suggestions

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Yes

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions

Will the server be installed at your ISP or at your place? If at your place, how fast is your link? Have you considered using your current PC as a server?

For your new PC, an Intel i5 2500K should meet your requirements. Other than gaming, all your requirements should already be mey by your current system.

For the server I never thought about getting it installed at my ISP nor using my computer as a server. Right now my connection is 25Mbps download and 2.5 upload. I am waiting for my ISP to put in the 250Mbps download and 25Mbps up

After consideration last night i thought id keep my website at my host, but i need something so i can live stream. I know there are some free sites that offer streaming, but i already adobe flash media server 4.5. Also I know i can rent a server, but i figure it be cheaper for me to buy a server for the little streaming that i plan on doing.

As for the PC the main reason i want to upgrade is that my board only supports 8GB ram which is maxed out. like you stated it works well for what i do with the exception of gaming. there is a program i use to extract stats from the game and it takes for ever to extract them. it should be instant but its not and people with slower computers than me have no issues

here are the two system builds i am looking at. ( not including hadr drives or vid cards)

A 25 Mbps link doesn't require a very powerful server.

If gaming is important, the i7 2600K would be the better option. I don't understand why you'd install 8 GB in one system and 32 GB in the other. You'd use them for very diiferent tasks?

I missed the 2x. Will you go for the 2700K (best for gaming) or the 3930K (best in applications)?
