Major speed drops with security enabled

I have a Belkin Share N300 Wireless N+ Router. I have no problems connecting a windows 7 machine and a macbook pro, but download speeds are horrible and super slow. If I disable all security options, everything flys. As soon as I enable security, everything is bottle necked again. Anyone have any ideas on how to address this? By slow, I mean taking minutes to load any site.

What security are you enabling?

I tried using encryption types WPA2/WPA (PSK) and also WEP 128bit. Same issue with both.

Forget WEP. Did you check for a firmware update?

Tried firmware update and none were available. After that I was at a loss for what to try. It is really frustrating though!

I would try a different router.
