Hello,I have a similar problem to that posted by tronblue.. namely I am attempting to get an old AMD k8 machine hooked up to my internet connection, and it's not playing ball. This PC (Which has been formatted with a fresh copy of XPx64 on it) used to connect fine, has no added network adapter, and is now recognising the ethernet port as an ieee1394 net adapter. any ideas?

Many thanks,

It's a driver issue. Go to the motherboard maker's or computer maker's website and download the chipset drivers (which will usually include the network adapter), unless there's a separate driver for the network adapter.

the 1394 adapter is really a Firewire adapter.
