Athlon ii x4 640 on m2n68-la motherboard

I am interested in upgrading the processer on a m2 n68-la M/board to Athlon X4 640 ( from x2 athlon)

If anyone has done this I would be grateful for advice on how to do it.

We would need to know which version of that motherboard you have. They are called Narra and their has been at least 6 versions thru the years.

Only have the info from the m/b which is M2N 68-LA. Used this on Asus site which indicated that a X4 Athlon might be compatible
but seemed to want longer ref no.

Look on the motherbaord for screen printer revision number.

The standard MN268 motherboard with the latest bios, support upto Athlon II X4 620 and Phenom II X6 1090T, so I would be very surprised if it didn't.
