My PC specs:
MSI 770 C35
AMD Phenom II X4 945

I tried to upgrade DDR3 from 2x2GB to 2x8GB (Kingston KVR1600C9D3/8G-SP).. I got this problem "CMOS Checksum Bad" when I tried those.
I already tried to reset / clear bios but still got the same problem.

MSI 770 C35 Specs:
DDR3 Memory DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600*(OC)
Memory Channel Dual
DIMM Slots 4
Max Memory (GB) 16

I'm guessing that since max RAM is 16GB and there are 4 slots that each slot can only handle 4GB, but from what I've read that checksum error is typically related to BIOS

First try removing the CMOS battery (unplug power from PSU first), clear CMOS using jumper (if your board has one), put in a NEW CMOS battery, plug in and boot up.

If that doesn't work.....http://www.tech-faq.com/cmos-checksum-bad-error.html
