Audio on motherboard

I recently gotten a new wd 1tb green hard drive and a 4gb ram stick and upgraded to windows 7 ultimate 64 bit after I gotten to I notice that the sound didn't work no more so i tried using the old harddrive but it still didn't come on and I went back to the new harddrive played around with the drivers and I was able to change the volume but no sound came out and I mess with it again and the x on the volume is back up and tried installing all the 64bit drivers for my system I'm using the alc887 chip set and I downloaded the driver and the motherboard I'm using is the msi-fm2-a55-e33 with the a10-5800k and the gpu is msi HD 7770 duel fan both the motherboard and the gpu have HDMI digital audio and also I need help solving front audio connection because my case is kinda old using old names verse my motherboard and sorry if I mispell anything because l type this on my smartphone
