Is this a good configuration?

hi, Its final that im building a pc and i have $1700 to spend.

i will be using the computer for video/photo editing and gaming.


cpu- i7 2600k
mobo- gigabyte ga-z68x-ud7
gpu- sapphire radeon 6970 dual fan
ram- corsair 8gb xms3 1600mhz
psu- corsair ax850
case- thermaltake level 10 GT
cooler- corsair h80
monitor- samsung s22a300b
hdd- wd caviar black 1tb
blu-ray burner- lite-on IHBS112-29
cd/dvd burner- iHAS424-98
speakers- logitech ls21
networking- rosewill RNX-N360PC
and sabrent card reader...

i will later upgrade to 6970 CF and add a sound card

I cant afford ssd so unless prices come down in 2 weeks i wont buy it.

Whats with the hdd prices, will they ever come down!?

i will overclock my cpu

Yeah, it is pretty good. Your motherboard is pretty crazy. 4 slots for graphics cards.

If this is cheaper, then get this. I have a feeling your motherboard is $300 or something

Unless you plan to use 3 video cards, you dont need that mobo. Get a cheaper one and put the extra money into a small SSD? Trust me, a 60 GB SSD would be fine for an OS and 2 most played games or so.

The rest of the items look fine to me. I'm not a fan of Gigabyte, but if you must get a Gibabyte mobo, get the equivalent of Asus P8Z68V-Pro/Gen 3, I believe it is a UD4.
