Trying to hose my first lan party at my house here :)

ive never been to a lan aprty, im not actually sure 100% what it is!

i just want to host one...but a VERY small one...

just maybe 4-10 people, playing games over the local network. my network is a hodgepodge of 10/100mbps and some gigabit hardware...will this choke my network or how much can an network like mine handle? the basis of my network is

I have no idea what that is.

If games play well over the internet, they will probably play just fine on 100Mb networks.
