Ive recently decied to update my Radeon 4850 to Catalyst 11.10 for BF3 beta to run beta. But whenever I try to install a new driver it keeps on coming up with the same message: "Driver Install: The INF file was not found. I then tried to install another driver to see if it would work. It doesn't. Same message. I then tried a bunch of older drivers. I even went back 8.10 to see if that would work. But even that gave me the same message. I can't system restore either because I get "%systemroot%registration. Destination: ComPlus Staging error" each time I try to restore my PC. This is rather annoying as I just want to be able to play games again. Can someone help me to get past this?

If it helps here is the report after one of the failed installations:

I get the feeling you may either have malware or an anti-virus messing with your windows files. Supposing you already tried disabling the AV (if you even use one), I would try doing a combofix:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/

It's a scripted tool for removing rootkits and the like. Did me a lot of good in with past problems, might as well try it.
