I am working on my first new build and am using a ASRock x79 extreme, a i7 3820 cpu, a 212 hyperflow cooler and 16 gb ram. I pre assembled the motherboard along with a gpu and test fired it to see if things were working before installing it into the case, the fan started and lights lit and after about 8seconds my screen came on and said there was no operating system and other info as I was expecting. I thought things were fine then I realized i did not hear the chassis speaker beep. I double checked the position on the mobo and tried again, things fired up but no beep.
I continued the build but am now wondering how important the beep is and what I should check before a first boot.
Info on this would be appreciated.
