Motherboard lights up, fans spin but will not boot

First off, does your motherboard have a small display on it for codes? (it would look like a digital watch). If it does, look up the code in the manual. If not, read on...

What's new, what's old, what did you change recently? If the computer begins to boot but doesn't complete, that most likely means it can't POST (power on self test). This process checks the vital components of the pc such as cpu, ram, etc. My guess is you may have bad ram, try puling out the sticks and switching them. if it still doesn't work, put one stick in and test, if it fails, pull that one out and put the other one in (for as many sticks as you have).

Other than those 2 suggestions we will need some more information to help you out

+1 to Cripple13, plus make sure your CPU power lead is attached to the board (either a 4 or 8-pin connector from) the PSU.
