New Motherboard for Old Chip set! Help

Hello,
I've got a questions, I have an intel i7-2600k , H61 chipset apparently, it has LGA 1155 socket. I want to upgrade my motherboard, but not sure which one works with my cpu, (currently have BIOstar H61MU3) does that mean i have to get a motherboard with H61? or can i get a motherboard with like Z77 and an LGA 1155 socket?.

Thanks!
Eggy

  1. Hi,
Any LGA 1155 board does support the CPU, so a Z77 one too.

nice! thanks, which motherboard would you recommend for crossfiring with? z77 or z68? or other?
  3. A Z77 one that supports Crossfire. It depends on the budget. One with x8 x8.

    not x16 x16?
  5. I'm not sure if the gain in performance would justify the extra spending.
