Memori loose with PERC raid controller Tags: Asus NAS / RAID Controller Motherboards alfonsSF January 16, 2013 8:41:20 AM Hi. I'm not sure that this is the apropiate room. If not, please, let me know. I have a computer with rampage 2 extrem mother board with the i7 920 2,67 ghz. 6x2 = 12 Gb Ram. 5 ethernet interfaces (2 double and 1 single) intel made. Until now with no disks. The SO is placec in a USB stick. The SO is vmWare ESXi5.0. Now I installed a PERC 6i PCI SATA-SAS RAID controller. Yes I know rampage has controler , bat it is "fake raid". ESXi needs true RAID. Of course, raid is dissabled in the mother board BIOS set up. When restarting computer with the PERC installed, only 8 Gb Ram are recogniced by BIOS. If I pull it out and restart entering and leaving BIOS setup, 12 Gb are shown again. My hardware knowledge is not so deep to understand the reason and if this issue can be solved via set-up. (perhaps IRQ) I need all the available RAM because this machine es for LABs int VMware virtualisation certification. Any suggestion will be much appreciated. Thaks in advanced.
