More about will accept dual core
  1. The post itself doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but yes Windows XP 32-bit supports dual core CPU's. I once ran an E4400 under 32-bit XP.
  2. Make sure your processor of choice is supported and that you meet the bios firmware level requirement.

My motherboard doesn't take ideas either. Stubborn people, those motherboards.

If your motherboard says it can handle a dual core, then I'm sure it can. In fact, if my motherboard told me anything I would be very impressed. Mine doesn't talk to me at all. I guess its just the quiet type.
