Will 32 bit xp pro accept a dual core cpu

Hello, I have a Asus P5PE-VM board that says it can handle a dual core cpu but it wont take any ideas

The post itself doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but yes Windows XP 32-bit supports dual core CPU's. I once ran an E4400 under 32-bit XP.

My motherboard doesn't take ideas either. Stubborn people, those motherboards.

If your motherboard says it can handle a dual core, then I'm sure it can. In fact, if my motherboard told me anything I would be very impressed. Mine doesn't talk to me at all. I guess its just the quiet type.
