games mostly battlefield 3.
sometimes encoding.
I was thinking of buying i5-2500k but since im using it as encoding movies, i think im going w i7.
and to run battlefield 3 wo any lag. i thought i needed at least gtx 570 sli and to support sli i need more than 900w. thats why im going w 1000w.
and other than that, i just bought whatever i thought its compatible.

Use a Z68 motherboard . The Lucid Virtu drivers will let you use quick sync and still run the graphics cards

The cpu cooler is not a great performer and definitely not good value for money .
More so when you consider how cool running the sandy bridge processors are .
The Hyper 212 evo instead

The tall heat spreaders on the RAM could be a problem with any large cpu cooler .

900- 1000 watts is right for GTX 570 SLI , but the XION brand is not one that gets recommended here a lot . Have you read good independent reviews of the unit? If not then better to stick with a more mainstream brand
