Network Security Key will not change

I have installed a new router. My HP dv7 will not connect via wlan because the security key will not change. I entered the new key, but it defaults back to the old key when I try to connect. What am I doing wrong?

Delete the wireless connection and recreate it.

I have solved this problem at one time from the fix that was posted here on the net. Carelessly, I did not bookmark the site not expecting to run across this problem again. From the last fix, I remember, a missing service or function on the advance section for the wireless NIC card properties from the device manager, it's just it's been a while for me to remember. I know someone had a fix for this problem, it will be nice if you can help the community.
