MOBO and CPU ideas

Hello all,
Building my first gaming rig and have my eye set on a ASUS Crosshair and FX-8350 i can get both for under 500$
but i heard i can get better performance getting an intel i5.
my only gripe is i get alot of features with the crosshair board and it reasonably priced
any board for intel is already more expensive for less features.
but since im a hardcore gamer and want best out of the games i play is it worth getting Intel setup??
if so can i have good ideas for intel mobo and cpu combo please!

Well, for $500, you can get a i5-3570k and an AS Rock Z77 Extreme 4. You can get them for under $400. You can go for an i7 if you want, but it's not gonna give you any significant performance boost for gaming. The AS Rock mobo has all the essential features like USB 3.0, SATA III and SLI/ corssfire ready. This CPU + Mobo combo is rock solid for gaming.

Yea the 3570K i chose for sure seems great price point for performance
I looked at the asrock and liked it,
but i believe ill get the ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe it has great features and will look better in my THOR v2 white case!!
