Disable integrated graphics?

I'm about to install my new MSI GTX460 Hawk graphic card. My MOBO is a P8Z68-V and I also have the i5 2500k. I was only using the integrated graphic (Intel HD3000) but when gaming the CPU was getting very hot and sometimes my computer was shutting down because of that.

Since I will have a new graphic card and won't need the integrated graphics anymore, do I need to deactivate the Intel HD3000?

The reason why I'm asking is that I'm afraid that the CPU will still keep computing everything related to graphics and still get very hot.
