Xfire upgrade

Hi,
Got upgrade fever again....
Currently using a hd 5770 xfire set up with Phenom 965 and 8gb ddr3, but thinking about going for hd 6850 xfire.
Would this be a worthwhile upgrade or would my cpu hold it back
Current rig.
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H
Phenom 965 c3
8GB XMS3
64GB crucial RealSSD (boot)
500GB (storage)
Creative Xtreme Gamer
Thermaltake 700w modular psu

The 6850 crossfire setup will be faster, plus it will scale better and give you some newer features but here's the question; do you NEED to uprade your GPU's? I know that money burning a hole in your pocket feeling but honestly if your current hardware is running your games fine then why bother? With the newer 7xxx's around the corner I'd say wait.

You may find you want to spend that money on Bulldozer instead.

Depends on the game and settings. Of course, overclocking your CPU will help minimize any CPU bottleneck. I say you spend a little more and go for 6870s if you want to max out crysis or something.

Unless you want 3D or something, I can't see why you shouldn't wait until the 7XXX series hit, as C0re suggested.

Think I'll probably hang on till the new year to see whats around the corner.
As COre said if games are running fine why bother?
Maybe a few quid on a new keyboard for now as I've almost punched a couple of holes in this one!
