What do I need to upgrade?

Hey everyone,

I have been playing consoles for a while now and realized I am totally missing out not being on PC. I want to be able to play BF3 on decent settings so I upgraded my HP recently. Here's what I've got:

CPU- AMD Phenom 9150e Quad Core 1.8GHz
GPU- Radeon HD 6870
OS- Vista 64 Bit service pack 2
Memory- 4.0 GB

My research had shown that this upgraded graphics card would be enough, but the game plays HORRIBLE. Tons of lag, and freezes up.

I realize this is probably a redundant question, any help is appreciated.

motherboard specs would help to see what your cpu options are.

Ok, I'm sorry if this sounds ridiculous but this is the only info I could get on my motherboard:

ECS Nettle 3 2.2
PCI Express

I'm sorry, I'm not sure where else to look for that information

i think it is time.
however there others that knows that AMD platform better than me.

but it looks like even upgrading the processor would not be cost efficient compared to the performance increase.

it would help if you posted what power supply, that might change over. but the RAM (ddr2) and motherboard will need to change.
