$700 build need a hand

Hey guys I have not built a comp in a while and theres alot of new stuff out, so I'm looking for some ideas. The comp is for a friend she wants to play Wow and Diablo 3.

She will need a monitor also I was thinking something with a resolution of 1680-1050. I do have a Hard drive so Wont be needing that.

If I can get some ideas it would really help alot thx.

  1. In fact I think I can find a monitor at a pawn shop till she can save up for a better one so maybe dont add that in.

Do i need this big of a video card to run games at 1680 by 1050?

Can anyone see anything i need to change to make this a better and cheaper build?
  4. it's just a gaming computer, you might consider an intel CPU/MoBo. i3/i5 seem to do better in gaming benchmarks. An i3 2100 and i3 2120 can cost between $100 and $135 depending on where you buy.

  5. i dont know how strict that budget is but i originally started with a 600 reaching 700+ but with rebates it goes back to around 650, also with my build i made it future proof if she doesnt care about that and only wants to play wow and d3 she can prob pay for a cheaper mobo/psu

    i5 2500k =180 (can just get a 99 dollar i3 2100 for the 2 games she wants though)

    ocz 600w (http://www.amazon.com/OCZ-ModXStream-Modular-Performance-compatible/dp/B001EYV690/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323470315&sr=8-1) = 60> 40 after rebate great deal for 600w

    8 gb (4x2) g x skill = i paid 30 but that sale is over its 40 now

    dvd burner =20 prob LG

my hdd you wont need = some 90 dollar one (so minus 90 from this build)

    case haf 912 = 60

    mobo asrock z64 extreme 3 = 133 (114 rebate)

    power color 6870 = 160 (140 rebate)

total with tax shipping is around 747
    -55 in rebate
-90 for hdd you wont need

should be good ! but i dont remember if u said to factor in w7/monitor but this build will or should run the next few games she wants on high-ultra smoothly and within budget

also you prob wont need a 6870 for her games but the powercolor is as cheap as a 6850 so might as well, i think 6850 is one of the better budget build vid cards which is not that bad from the 6870
