Hello all,

I'm in the process of building my first custom rig (on a budget) and have selected the following components.

ASUS M5A97 EVO Motherboard
16GB Kingston 1600 CL9 240pin (2 8GB kits)
Corasir HX-850 Modular power supply
Coolermaster HAF212
Coolermaster 200mm Blue LED fans
AMD Phenom II 960T
Coolermaster Hyper 212 plus cooler
LG SATA optical drive
WDC WD2500AAKS-61L9A0 SATAII Harddrive
WDC WD2500AAJS SATA II Hard drive
WDC WD5000AAKS-00TMA0 Hard drive
NVidea GeForce 7800 GT

Some components are being scavenged from my old machine, but most are new.

I'm planning on one intake fan up front and one exaust fan at the top. What I'm not sure of is how to setup the CPU cooler.

Should I set it up the cooler fan as a push or pull and what direction should it go? It feels like it should be pull, pointing up to the big 200mm fan right above it.

Any thoughts ( on either hardware or fan setup)?

Pull the air through the cooler toward the exhaust. If you want optimal cooling with the 212+ then add a second fan so the cooler has both push and pull fans. ...both pointed as close as you can get toward the exhaust fans.

Hardware looks fine with the exception of the GPU. A little dated...

The fan should be blowing air through the heatsink and out the back of the case(most do)..... pulling the air will do next to nothing without a fan pushing air through.... push-pull is optimal, you will get a few degrees difference by using push-pull instead of just Push.
