Willing to stretch budget for a significant improvement in performance of future proofing.


Approximate Purchase Date: Now till 2 months

Budget Range: (e.g.: 600-800) 1000 - 1400+

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (WoW, Skyrim, BF3, etc.), Burning backups of my legal video collection :)

4x1Gig Ram
X-Fi
1 TB 7200 HDD... I think
HD 6950 flashed to 6970
G15 Keyboard
Logitech mouse
WiFi dongle Belkin N I think (No wire to PC, Apartment life)
700W power supply, maybe 750W
Swiftech 320 radiator, 655 pump, and Apogee GT CPU Block
Coolermaster Cosmos case dremeled to internally mount the swiftech 3 fan radiator.
DO NOT NEED SOFTWARE

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Have used Newegg before, Also live near a microcenter

Parts Preferences:

Overclocking: Yes, but I need to learn a bit more...my first try was just upping clock and voltages...

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Monitor Resolution: Current monitor is 1680 x 1050...would like a new monitor

Additional Comments: really looking for advice on possible upgrade to MB, CPU, Ram, add or change GPU, and Monitor...

What would you do?

One last thing...CF on the HD6950 Flashed to 6970 may be impossible, as the reference boards are not allowing the mod anymore from what I understand... The card I have is the 2Gig version...also have 2 DVD RW drives.
