Error message

Black srcreen with
A disk read error occurred
press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reRECOVERY(strange symbols)

When I do this it just goes back to the same message. Laptop worked find night before. How can I fix it?

usually means it cant find a bootable device to boot from

strange symbols usually mean a faulty hard drive

does your laptop have a boot menu--ie press f12 or similar to pick a boot device?

if so press it and see if your hard drive is listed

and check you havent left a cd/dvd in the drive
