Is there a particular reason why core 0 always seems to run slightly hotter than the other 3 cores on an 2.8 Intel Core i7 730 CPU? I was wondering if it has to do with the architecture, workload and processing structure. Are more intensive tasks assigned to core 0?

Just a guess, but I would imagine it's because core 0 is always used first for any single threaded apps running in the background.
