.... According to the Wall Street Journal, NEC & Toshiba will be doubling and tripling their production of DDR RDRAM (the slow, vastly overpriced DRAM no one wants) for the PIV (the sluggy performing, vastly overpriced CPU no one wants) and cutting production of SDRAM because its so widespread, works so well, standardized, easy to make, and available that the price is low and there aren't any windfall profits to be made off suckers there.

.... Its all about $$$$$, not quality technology and value for the end user.

.... The PIV: its an IQ test.

.... There WILL be a quiz on this later.

Dont worry buzz, you will still be able to get SDRAM for your POS machine.

Just because you cant afford it doesnt mean that its not a good technology. quit whining about something your obviously clueless about.

More RDRAM on the market = lower prices. Yay!

.... Give me a break. The current situation:

.... RDRAM 1.6GB Bandwidth, higher priced, and slower.

.... DDR SDRAM 2.1GB bandwidth, lower price, and faster.

.... For the best, most extensive, most convincing, and complete analysis I've seen of WHY the PIV sux:

.... Sure, I know the link sez "P4", but its actually about the PIV !

.... And if you want the intel PIV engineers' explanation of why the PIV sux(left out the BEEF!), here it is:

.... You're welcome.

.... PIV, its an IQ test.
