According to the Wall Street Journal, NEC & Toshiba will be doubling and tripling their production of DDR RDRAM (the slow, vastly overpriced DRAM no one wants) for the PIV (the sluggy performing, vastly overpriced CPU no one wants) and cutting production of SDRAM because its so widespread, works so well, standardized, easy to make, and available that the price is low and there aren't any windfall profits to be made off suckers there.
.... Its all about $$$$$, not quality technology and value for the end user.
