I am about to build a new system for some gaming and to run virtual machines. I was hoping someone could tell me how powerful of a power supply i would need with the following components.

CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Mother board - ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ AMD 970
GPU - SAPPHIRE 100315L Radeon HD 6850 1GB
Memory - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
HD - Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARS 2TB 64MB

I also have two random dvd drive from a old pc. In the future I will probably want to increase the memory and maybe the graphics card. If you have a recommendation for a power supply I would love to hear it. Thanks

Currently 450W is enough, if you plan on going Crossfire then 650W or 750W depending on what level of cards you crossfire.
for 6850's 650W is fine, up to about 6970 750W will work.

Corsair TX750 V2 ~$90 after rebates for a 750W unit
Corsair HX750 ~$120 after rebates for a 750W unit with semi modular cables - 7 year warranty, great unit.

Seasonic X series in whichever range you need, somewhat pricy but about the best out there 560-760W are 'reasonably' priced between $120-150:ish
Fully modular 80+ gold rated

XFX Core Pro 650 $59.99 after rebates - this is actually a pretty nice deal

Antec also has a bunch of good units, including the High current gaming series.
