Need help will Motherboard compatibility

Hello, I am purchasing a barebones kit that comes with the Asus M5A78L-M LX
mobo and I was intending to buy the AMD Phenom II x4 955 but when I looked at the ASUS website it doesn't seem to say that it is supported even though it is still an AM3+ socket.
Do any of you know if the mobo does support this CPU or do I need to look again? (I hope not took me a while to find a decent CPU in my price range)

if it's the correct chipset and socket, they're compatible. if it doesn't say it's compatible, look up the chipset compatibility to double check
