It says the mobo only supports these cpu types A4 / A6 / A8 / E2 APU and since the processor is AM3 would that be a problem?

Biostar is a low quality mobo. Also you'll need different psu if u plan on cf

First of all I would go for intel build with i3-2100 in the core of the system
mobo from Asus or Gigabyte
Hd6850 for your resolution is plenty but u can always stay with hd6870
go for Antec 300 Illusion it's on sale for $40 after MIR

his intrest is gaming and multitasking, a quad will serve hime better than a dual in most cases.
+1 for the antec300

Yeah. But what is that multitasking. Is it 10 apps running at the same time or hardcore CAD and video editing.
