Hello,
when connecting 2 routers. internet to router 1, to router 2. do i go router 1 lan to wan in router 2. or can i do wan to wan in both routers

Depends on whether you want all computers on the same subnet of not.

are you asking if you can connect ONE modem via a switch to the WAN port of two routers? This will only work if your ISP has two IPs assigned to your account. This is usually only done for Business accounts

connecting the modem to the first router and then the WAN port of the second router to the LAN of the first router will set up to separate networks. However you need to make sure that the LAN IP of the two routers are different. 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.1
